Tobu Cho by Migishi Kotaro (1934)

Tobu Cho by Migishi Kotaro (1934)

The oil painting Tobu Cho (literally, flying butterflies) reflects the image described in Migishi’s poem Cho to Kaigara (visual poem) as such. Based on an original idea, a steel pipe is used for the frame, so the painting itself looks like a specimen box.
