The geopark area includes the whole Shikaoi Town, located in the northwest part of the Tokachi Plain, where visitors can experience terrains and ecosystems created by freezing cold, and learn about the wisdom of living and industries in cold climates under the unique theme of “Freezing” of this area. Fresh and sweet vegetables and milk are produced in the land created by accumulated pyroclastic flow deposits and volcanic ashes.
