Karinba Site: Beads and comma-shaped beads
Large jade beads and other special accessories were presumably owned by village leaders. Jade is thought to have been valuable due to its difficulty in processing and the fact that it was brought by trade all the way from its producing district – the Itoigawa area of Niigata Prefecture.
