A distribution survey was conducted to clarify the spread of the Pirika Site in 1987 and 1988. Excavation using 600 one square-meter trial pits established at regular intervals revealed that the site extends over approximately 200,000 m2 on the hill. This area is equivalent to about four baseball stadiums.
